Vusani Preston Sihlangu
Vusani Preston Sihlangu, known as ‘Presss’ by the contemporary South African music industry, is a renowned Afro-Soul/R&B singer song writer and producer. Presss’ professional music career began in the early 2000s when he became a member of the inaugaral Coca Cola Popstars competition group ‘101’ in 2002. In his almost two-decade long music career, Presss has released four studio albums namely ‘From 101’ in 2004, Young, Gifted and Black in 2007, ‘Black’ in 2014 and ‘Evolution of Love’ in 2017.
Presss’ albums have produced hit singles such as ‘Cry No More’, ‘iLobolo’, ‘Naledi’, ‘Ndi ngo wakho’, ‘Thojana ya thesele’, Nkeke kao siya and ‘Nomathemba’. In 2014, Presss’ ‘Black’ album received a Metro Fm Award Nomination for best R&B Album. Throughout his career, Presss has shared the stage with musical greats such as Alicia Keys, Usher, Paul Hamner, Jimmy Dludlu, Khaya Mahlangu and many more. Hailing from the small town of Theunissen in the Free State in South Africa, Presss has managed to grace stages in Germany, Lithuania and Belgium. Presss’ production skills together with that of Black Coffee’s brought to life the hit single ‘Crazy’ featuring female vocalist, entrepreneur and cousin to Presss, Thiwe Mbola.
Following his music industry hiatus Presss has been determined to take the center stage in the South African Afro-Soul music scene and in fact dubs himself as the ‘King of Sotho Soul’. Presss intends to release new music, treat audiences to more live performances and give his supporters more of what they have been asking for. South African music lovers and supporters of Presss can finally look forward to the beginning of a new dawn as the Artist is coming through with a new attitude, look and twist to the music industry.
